King & Queen Qualifications

700m Class IV WW in St. Leonhard
Starting system: The qualification will be held in two individual time trials on a 700m long course. Start interval is 30 seconds and it will be started according to your start number.

The section of river is below St. Leonhard. Near the finish there is parking at the Sandwirt in St. Leonhard.

The times from the two runs are added together to give you your qualifing time for the quarters /semi and finals all of which will take place on the final course in Moos the following day. Times are measured with light barriers.

  • 09.00 – 11.15 1st + 2nd QUALIFICATION RUN: K1 OPEN
  • 11.30 – 12.30 1st + 2nd QUALIFICATION RUN: K1 Masters M / K1 Master W/ K1 Senior Women / K1 Juniors* / OC1* / Packrafters*

*For juniors, packrafters and OC1 this race will count as the final.

Friday evening
In the evening there will be a fun King Triathlon for all the kayakers who didn’t make it to the quarter finals, great prizes guaranteed! Afterwards, you can drown your sorrows with friends at the King Losers Party!

King & Queen Finals

The quarter/semi/ and final runs will be held in Moos on class V whitewater.

  • 08:30 – 09:45 MANDATORY PRACTICE RUN FOR ALL ATHLETES
  • 10:00 – 11:30 QUARTER FINALS: 60 Open Men
  • 10:00 – 14:00 Lunch
  • 14:00 – 15:15 SEMI FINALS: 10 Master Men / 10 Open Women / 30 Open Men
  • 15:30 – 16:30 FINALS:  5 Master Men / 5 Open Women / 15 Open Men

 

The finals will be individual time trials on the 300m long King final section in Moos on Class IV whitewater.

The start will be in reverse order of the qualifying results, slowest time goes first.  After each run there is a result sheet and it will start again in reverse order of the results from the previous run. Times are measured with light barriers.

King of the Alps Finals

The halffinal (best 32 “Open men” and  5 “open women” from the Marathon race) is carried out in a “head-to-head-format“. Two kayakers form one heat (pairing). Each kayaker will run the final section alone and timed.

The fastest kayaker of each heat advances to next finale round. In the final the top 16 kayakers + 1 lucky looser  compete in the final sprint race (Once only)!

The organizers of the king of the alps reserve the right to reduce the number of participants in the final for security reasons!
